Acoatica at Parc Découverte Nature wins the 2022 Outdoor Excellence Award – Development and Innovation as well as Expansion & Growth Awards!

Coaticook, November 4th, 2022 – It was during the Aventure Écotourisme Québec (AEQ) convention and the Association of Quebec Regional Parks (PaRQ) on November 2nd and 3rd that Acoatica at Parc Découverte Nature won the Innovation & Development prize. In addition to this award, they also earned the Expansion & Growth Award presented to them during the Excellence Gala of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Coaticook region on October 27th , 2022.

The 2022 season was the first full season for Acoatica, which was inaugurated on July 13th, 2021. We were able to count on seasonal and permanent employees, a board of directors, partners who developed with us an innovative appeal without forgetting the important financial support to create and offer a successful tourist offer. We are proud to be the winners of these two awards, which end a magical season in style! says Caroline Sage, General Manager of Parc Découverte Nature and Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook.
Acoatica is a massive indoor and outdoor video game that combines the outdoors and high-performance technology featuring the preservation of Quebec’s native freshwater fish species. The fun, immersive, gourmet and educational adventure also includes fishing activities during summer and winter season.

OUTDOOR EXCELLENCE AWARD – DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION – AEQ-PARQ
The organization had to demonstrate its contribution to the development of the industry, by innovating new products or services in order to win this category. The teams innovation and creativity DNA combined with the expertise of Arcane Technologies and Tessier Récréo-Parc, two Quebec companies, have made it possible to create a brand new attractive tourist offer that has quickly won the hearts of visitors.

 

EXCELLENCE EXPANSION & GROWTH AWARD– COATICOOK REGION (CCIRC) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
The winner of this award, through its organization, work, involvement and its achievements having to distinguish the organization outside the Coaticook region and make the region known through a significant event. “We had to come up with the idea, structure it into an appealing offer for Quebec. The team was able to ally itself with the major orientations of Tourism Cantons-de-l’Est and Tourism Coaticook by setting up a new structured tourist experience combining the outdoors, culinary and sustainable development aspects. The results of this strategy are concrete and are promising for upcoming years. “Assures Caroline Sage”

“This daring project required investments of nearly $3M. The involvement of the Quebec Government through the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Caisse des Verts-Sommets de l’Estrie (Desjardins), Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook, from the Government of Canada via Canada Economic Development, the Tillotson Fund, the City and MRC of Coaticook, as well as Tourism Cantons-de-l’Est were essential for the creation of Acoatica” says Jean-Yves Caron , Chairman of the Board of Directors of Parc Découverte Nature and Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook.

Parc Découverte Nature (decouvertenature.qc.ca) is a non-profit organization that welcomes more than 11,000 visitors annually. Acoatica, this mixed outdoor, fishing and interactive technological survival adventure. During winter season, a winter version is offered and combined with ice fishing.
